Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

BJJ Fundamentals

A revolving set of 36 classes held every Monday-Saturday, giving the beginner Jiu-Jitsu student the foundation techniques and movements essential for success and true understanding of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Classes are repeated so the class taught on Monday is also taught on Tuesday, same for Wednesday/Thursday, & Friday/Saturday. These 36 lessons will rotate every 12 weeks, & students are encouraged to attend as often as they’d like.

BJJ Mixed Levels

These classes build off the BJJ Fundamentals classes, teaching the student set-ups and combinations of fundamental attacks and defenses. To succeed in these classes, we recommend a solid understanding of our fundamentals. There is a minimum skill requirement for these classes of 2 stripes on your white belt.

BJJ No-Gi

Held every Tuesday evening, this class allows students to train without the gi, learn to deal with different attacks and set-ups, and learn how to deal with increased speed and different grips without the gi. To succeed in these classes, we recommend a solid understanding of our fundamentals. There is a minimum skill requirement for these classes of 2 stripes on your white belt.

BJJ All Levels

Held every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 12-1:30 pm, these classes begin by teaching the student set-ups and combinations of fundamental attacks and defenses.  We also explore variations, as well as more intermediate techniques and concepts.  There is no minimum skill requirement for these classes.

Women’s BJJ

Taught every Thursday evening by Black Belt Liz Sussan. This class is offered to people of any experience level who identify as women. Contact info (at) RichmondBJJ.com for additional information.


Muay Thai

Muay Thai Fundamentals

A revolving set of 18 different classes held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, giving the beginner Muay Thai student the foundation techniques and movements essential for success and true understanding of Muay Thai. The curriculum is repeated every 6 weeks & all students can attend the classes as often as they’d like.

Muay Thai Mixed Levels

These classes build off the Muay Thai Fundamentals classes, continuing with set-ups and combinations of fundamental attacks and defenses. There is a minimum requirement of blue shirt status for attendance in our Mixed Levels classes.

Muay Thai Clinch

These classes will cover more intermediate and advanced level techniques, combinations, and concepts focusing on close-range fighting from the Thai Plumm (clinch position), which is the cornerstone of Muay Thai. There is a minimum requirement of blue shirt status for attendance in our Clinch classes.
