April 2013 Technique of the Month Video: Open Guard Passing
We are excited to share a simple open guard pass, which will help you gain the side control or the back mount on your opponents!
The open guard pass is done from double sleeve control, with a foot on your bicep and the other foot on your hip (aka “bow and arrow control”).
The pass will place you in a solid position to either gain side control, or if they attempt to roll away, give you the opportunity to set the hooks and take the back!
Drill these a lot, you will be surprising your training partners and opponents in no time!
These positions are must-haves for beginners and advanced Jiu-Jitsu players alike!
